The Telugu diaspora that has settled overseas has been very successful in technology and entrepreneurship. The community is now a very influential group and increasingly occupy roles of political and social influence. We are proud to see that the Telugu community is also increasingly supporting organizations and causes with broad social change.

 However, most of the efforts by the Telugu diaspora to give back to the community has been staggered and sporadic. This is due to various reasons like lack of a coordinated effort and lack of a unifying plan to combine these efforts to scale and thus maximize impact. Also the number of causes that could have been benefited from such an expansive scale of ‘giving back’ have been limited or un-prioritised. Also, many people have held back their efforts because of the lack of transparency from the recipient organizations and not being able to see the impact their contribution made. There is so much more we can achieve by working together.

MahaVahini Foundation believes that healthcare and education are the two areas that should be accorded highest priority to bring about long standing change and long term sustainable growth in the Telugu states. We also believe that the gaps in accessibility and affordability of healthcare and education can be impacted positively by the concerted and channelised efforts of the Telugu diaspora world over.

MahaVahini Foundation is working on an ambitious project to establish a network of 700 primary health centers in the Telugu states that will supplement the govt health infrastructure. The project is based on a hub and spoke model where ten centers or spokes are connected to a centrally located hub center through advanced technology platform that enables electronic health records and telemedicine access to senior doctors and specialists. The system will allow a bulk of the currently underserved rural population in the Telugu states to have better access to quality healthcare.

MahaVahini invites individuals or groups of individuals as sponsors for these clusters.

You could sponsor one or multiple clusters in your "chosen geographical area" where you would like to make an impact and improve the chosen community's health outcomes; we believe that, you will find this a rare and wonderful opportunity to enhance the infrastructure of your chosen area and more importantly, support our nation and community's healthcare directly. MahaVahini Foundation will on its part establish, operate and manage the cluster of healthcare centers professionally using industry standard operational and medical protocols and state of the art technology platform. MahaVahini will hire, train and manage the required manpower for effective delivery of healthcare services. The founders and team of MahaVahini Foundation have a credible track record of conceptualizing, implementing and delivering some of the largest public health programs in India viz. the largest health helpline in India handling 60,000 calls per day, one of the most ambitious field health programs covering 25000 villages across India every month, to name a few.

When you sponsor these healthcare clusters, you would be supporting a high impact programme operating in rural pockets of our Telugu states and play an important part in a cause aimed at reducing healthcare inequities. With MahaVahini’s plan of integrating the efforts and resources of the Telugu diaspora, the potential for impact is both very huge and tangible. Giving back to the community through sponsorship is a great opportunity and we do not want you to stop there. We do not want this to be viewed as a one time donate and forget effort but a long term partnership with MahaVahini in our endeavor to improve healthcare infrastructure in our communities. We would like to make it even more exciting and truly engaging; when you donate as an individual or a group and contribute to the wonderful initiative, we also want you to make a "personal connection". We want you to involve yourself into the ground level activities too. While MahaVahini takes the responsibility to set up healthcare clusters at the area or community of your choosing, we would like you to be involved by connecting us to the community elders, sarpanch or panchayat, so that we start partnering with the community from the ground level and it becomes a collective responsibility for a larger good. We also would like to have you name the healthcare cluster/s with the name of your choosing too. You can honor your parents, family, a local hero or your own.. the choice is entirely yours. However, we strongly encourage you to remain connected to the community by participating in its anniversary celebrations and annual meetings regularly.

Cluster Sponsoring Options:

Each cluster includes a central clinic or hub and around 10 surrounding spoke health centers connected to the hub through state of the information technology platform that enables electronic health records and remote tele medicine consultation with senior doctors and specialists. This hub and spoke model also allows for centralising and reducing the cost of operations like lab infrastructure and continuous availability of medical officers.
